Privacy Policy

Who we are

SaveAudio (“we”, “the service”) lets you record, upload, organise and share audio. This policy explains what we store and what control you have over it.

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and avatar Google returns. Used only to identify your account.
  • Your content — the audio files you record or upload, plus their names, tags, notes, waveform data, playlists and group memberships.
  • Operational metrics — timing and success/failure of uploads and playback requests, so we can keep the service reliable. No audio content is included.
  • Error reports — when something crashes we log the technical error and your user id. We do not send your audio, file names, or message contents.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
  • We do not listen to, transcribe or train models on your recordings.

Where your data lives

Accounts, metadata and audio files are stored with our managed cloud backend provider, and crash reports — when enabled — with our error-monitoring provider. A current list of every third-party service we rely on is maintained by our engineering team and kept in sync with this policy.

Sharing

Audio is private to your account by default. It becomes visible to other people only when you add it to a group or share a group join code. Anyone holding a valid join code can join that group and see the audio shared into it — treat codes like passwords.

Retention

We keep your content until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting a track removes its stored audio file. Deleting your account removes your profile, tracks, playlists, group memberships, metrics and stored audio permanently, usually within seconds and always within 30 days for backups.

Your rights

You can access, export and erase your data at any time from Settings. Export produces a machine-readable JSON file of your account data. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. If you are in the EEA, UK or California, these controls satisfy your access, portability and erasure rights; you may also contact us directly.

Security

Access to your rows is enforced in the database itself (row-level security), audio is served through short-lived signed URLs, and all traffic uses HTTPS.

Children

SaveAudio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and notify signed-in users. Questions or requests: privacy@soundsafe.online.
